I met Gaye Lindfors at The Refine Conference in September 2012. What a fun person! We had our vendor tables situated next to one another there so we had a great opportunity to connect. I also had the privilege to hear her breakout session on The Good, The Bad and The You’ve Got to be Kidding Me! which was fabulous and gave me wonderful insights. I particularly liked her idea to step back when I’m feeling hurt, anxious or tired and “put a frame around the situation.” I loved her humor, honesty and integrity and simple ideas. If your church or event or retreat needs a speaker, you will love her. Gaye is a member of the National Speakers Association.
I also bought her book, God, Girlfriends & Chocolate: Encouraging Stories From the Heart, which is a wonderful book where Gaye shares precious stories and lessons learned – both from her point of view and others who have guest chapters. I love the “doodle pages” as well as the “Something to think about…” pages.
Live in a town long enough and you’ll find you really are only seven degrees of separation away, not from Kevin Bacon, but from making a connection with someone. At the conference, I got talking with a woman who bought my book and learned she was from out-of-town, from a small town of 250 people in northern Minnesota. The name of the town is unique and I had only met one person from there. I mentioned the woman’s name I knew, and turns out, Gaye is her sister. Her sister is also a Julie. Our boys all attended the same elementary and Jr. High together.
I am so honored my book, BlessBack is featured on Gaye Lindfors’ blog, Living With Purpose.
Thanks, Gaye, for featuring BlessBack on your blog!
