A FREEBIE

November 16, 2019 • Julie Saffrin • Leave a Comment

Happy November! Hope your month is going well. Usually at this time of the year, I’m scurrying to create new items and have them printed and packaged for a booth I rent at Christ Presbyterian’s Holiday Boutique. This year, the boutique falls on my granddaughter Olivia’s birthday, so I won’t be there and I’ll miss seeing your kind faces and visiting with you. Being we’re nearing Thanksgiving, I’d like to say thank you to you, for reading my blog, for buying my books, and for buying at my Etsy store, juliesaffrinsstuff. I’d like to give you a freebie that you…

Irene Christiansen – An Illuminator

They stand mostly abandoned now, these one-room country schools. But as the following story by Florence Smallfield reveals, they were places held in high esteem, where community happened and children of all ages received instruction in education and a way to go in life. You can read her moving account of her family’s BlessBack in BlessBack: Thank Those Who Shaped Your Life by purchasing a copy of the paperback version here. Or, if you prefer, the e-book version of BlessBack is FREE for…

BlessBack, A Dream of Mine

June 4, 2012 • Julie Saffrin • Leave a Comment

February 2012 Blog BlessBack, This Dream Made Real “ … there should be long obedience in the same direction; there thereby results, and has always resulted in the long run, something which has made life worth living.” — Friedrich Neitzsche, Beyond Good and Evil February, 2012 I am sitting here, like I do most daylight hours, trying to create a worthwhile combination of words — words that will evoke meaning and emotion. Words that will make someone’s life different, if only for one hour. Seems like I have sat here for years, typing in the same direction, trying to make…

BlessBack Dinner, part 1

April 10, 2012 • Julie Saffrin • 1 Comment

So, you’d like to host a BlessBack Dinner. While some of you have shared your BlessBack stories with me, others have expressed an interest in wanting to thank your life influencers over a meal. Invite your honoree to your home for dinner. 3. Find two or three of your friends and plan a BlessBack meal with each of you inviting your BlessBack honorees to the meal. For…
